Day 1: Windhoek/ Kalahari Desert
From Windhoek, head south through desert shrub savannah to a lodge in the Kalahari Desert for the first evening. A beautiful site where the lodge is close to the red desert dunes of the Kalahari.
A green oasis in the Kalahari landscape, Auob Lodge is situated on the banks of the dry Auob River. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere at the swimming pool or discover the surrounding area on foot or horseback or game drives. Accommodation on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2: Maltahöhe / Namib Desert
After breakfast, travel west via Maltahöhe to the Namib Desert for the next two nights. This is a lovely drive from one desert to the other passing through desert type savannah, open plains and rolling hills. This drive takes about 4 hours so one can enjoy the Kalahari area in the morning and an early departure is not necessary. A late afternoon nature drive or walk at the lodge is recommended, especially at sunset!
Situated 31.5 km from the Sossusvlei entry gate, the Desert Homestead lodge has been skilfully designed to incorporate all the features that guests loved about the original lodge, whilst enjoying the benefit of a pristine location. Extra activities include horse riding, sun-downer drives, guided walks, hiking, ballooning, quad biking and flight excursions. Accommodation on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

Day 3: Sossusvlei
A whole day is set aside in this beautiful area with an early morning rise to drive to the Sossusvlei area where most of the morning will be spent on dune climbing, photography and to visit the amazing Dead Pan. A stunning area, especially early morning! The afternoon is free to relax after the early morning rise and/or to go on a drive or a short hike in the area.
The dunes of the Namib Desert have developed over millions of years. It is thought that the vast quantities of sand were deposited into the Atlantic Ocean by the Orange River. This material was subsequently moved northwards by the Benguela current to be dumped back onto the land by the surf. Accommodation at Desert Homestead on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

Days 4 and 5: Kuiseb Canyon/ Swakopmund
Head west to the gravel plains of the Namib to visit the amazing prehistoric Welwitschia plants and Moonlandscape before arriving at the German colonial style town of Swakopmund. The first morning is set aside for an excursion to the Walvis Bay lagoon where a wide range of birds such as flamingos, pelicans and waders can be seen. The afternoon is free to spend in Swakopmund.

The Europahof offers a relaxed atmosphere is within a short walking distance to the city centre and the beach. All 35 rooms are equipped with a telephone, satellite TV and en-suite bathrooms. In the restaurant they will spoil you with a great variety of Namibian game and seafood as well as European dishes and vegetarian dishes. Accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 6: Skeleton Coast/ Damaraland
Head north along the Skeleton Coast to the breeding colony (80 000-100 000), of Cape Fur Seals, at Cape Cross, stop over at the Lichen Fields as well as a salt pan. From here, head inland to the “pro-Namib” to the Erongo Mountains. If time permits, an afternoon hike in the area is planned.
Set afoot massive, scarred granite boulders, overlooking the magically beautiful range of the Erongo, is Ai Aiba. Near the lodge, numerous pre-historic rock paintings will draw you into the spell of Africa. 10 thatch-roofed bungalows offer 20 luxurious double rooms with their own terrace, showers and separate WCs. The rooms are tastefully furnished in African style. Accommodation on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

Day 7: Spitzkoppe/ Okahandja
From here, travel east to the central Namib to visit the beautiful Spitzkoppe Granite outcrops, close to Usakos before heading on to Okahandja and the wood carvers market.
Okahandja Lodge is situated on the banks of the dry Okakango River between a large concentration of Camel Thorn and other indigenous trees. The Lodges offers 16 twin comfortably furnished en-suite rooms, 2 family units and 6 luxury rooms with TV and air-con. Enjoy the sights and sounds of abundant bird life in the area. Accommodation on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

Day 8: Windhoek
Return to Windhoek, for your onward flight.
