Overview
Kulala Tented Camp is located in the heart of Namibia’s Namib Desert. It is a tented camp situated on our 46,000 acre private reserve near Sossusvlei. The camp is about fifteen kilometers from Kulala Desert Lodge with a separate access road. The camp is built at the foot of a mountain facing towards the east. This camp is ideal for groups with their own guide and vehicle, or guests on a self-drive safari.
The camp has six “Meru” styled tents with en-suite bathrooms. Hot water is solar heated. The tents are elevated on wooden decks and are linked to the main dining room, bar and swimming pool by pathways.
The interiors are simple yet comfortable and have solar-powered 12V lighting. The main dining area, bar and reception are built from canvas with thatched roofing.
There is a fully stocked bar and traditional three-course meals are served at dinner. At night lanterns light the main area.
On the edge of the oldest desert in the world, game is scarce but fascinating. Sightings of animals like Springbok, Gemsbok, Ostrich, Bat-eared Fox and Aardwolf is exciting in these rugged conditions.
Accommodation is usually booked on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
Activities and lunches are laid on at an additional cost.
Activities include excursions to Sossusvlei, early morning ballooning, guided walks and nature drives both at night and during the day.
